Synopsis: ‘First, do no harm’ is a foundational commitment of all in healthcare. This session explores important concepts in Patient Safety and how these can be applied in a Primary Care practice. Key discussion points include the place of culture and systems in the overall Patient Safety framework, important elements in a Patient Safety programme and how these are linked with the Governance and Improvement frameworks in the organization.
SingHealth Polyclinics is a group of nine physician-led, public sector Primary Care Polyclinics serving communities in the Southern and Eastern parts of Singapore. There is strong emphasis on chronic disease management and integrated systems-based practice. Patient Safety is a core organization priority, and ‘Zero Harm’ is the focus of both culture and systems design.
